TL needs PLN400m this year
Telefonia Lokalna will need over PLN400m this year for investments. The full sum is not yet known and a business plan is to be finished at the end of this month. It is an open secret that management at KGHM Polska Miedź is negotiating with Elektrim about merging Telefonia Lokalna with El-Net and starting a new company. It would seem that KGHM and Elektrim would take an equal share in the company before Deutsche Telekom invested in the company. It is not clear where negotiations are now at.
Jarosław M. Janiszewski, MD of Telefonia Lokalna said that he did not want to comment as this concerned the owner of the company. However he said that it was no surprise that the German operator was interested in their market. The company believes that it will have over 500,000 lines and 200,000 subscribers by the end of the year. Losses last year came to PLN140m and sales receipts PLN100m.
