Used construction machinery rumpus
Steelworks Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) and the construction machinery federation SRKPMB will be requesting that the economy ministry intervene to protect it from what it sees as unfair competition from importers of used machinery. The steelworks is a major producer of construction machinery including caterpillar tracked vehicles. Around 4,000 machines are imported annually where HSW sells 100 units.
However Michał Wawrzyniak of Poznan based importers Grausch i Grausch points out that construction companies buy used machinery because they cannot afford to buy it new.
