Despite a change at in the top management of the Upper Silesian Energy Concern (GZE), the company insists that there will be no change in current policy towards restructuring.

The company claims that no mass lay offs are in the works and that Vattenfall, the strategic investor, will maintain completely all the terms of the social package agreed at the time the plant was privatised.

Nonetheless the Swedish Vattenfall is going to have to come to terms with the fact that it is not going to get money from its creditors as quickly as it would like.

GZE is owed around PLN500m from the railway authority PKP as well as steel works and coal mines.
