We want Polkomtel

It would seem that minority shareholders in cellular operator Polkomtel, Vodaphone and TDC, have asked the Polish and predominately state owned KGHM, PKN Orlen and PSE what their plans are for the firm. It is suggested that the foreign operators are seeking to increase their almost forty percent stake to a majority holding or reduce it to zero. Indeed the stake held by PKN Orlen could find itself up for sale as its shareholders want it to concentrate on its core business. Indeed the only reason to keep the shares is for the dividends but despite PLN591m profits earned last year, Polkomtel is likely to plough back all its money into the business.
