Bearish moods on the WSE

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index rebounded on Friday. After three sessions of decreases, blue chips managed to stop the losses. The WIG20 index added only 0.45 percent today.

PKO BP bank was dragging the market down, the stock ended 0.5 percent down. KGHM copper producer jumped 3.7 percent today, it was the only day of increases for the stock this week. Investors did not like the news from Michal Solowow company Barlinek which said it was stopping its PLN 400m investment in Russia. Barlinek fell 4.8 percent while Cersanit, another company from Solowow group with plants in Russia, shed 1.8 percent.

mWIG40 and sWIG80 rose 6.39 percent in the first week of September. After the first half of the month, their gains amount to only 1.09 percent. WIG20 is much worse than its European peers. The 20 share blue chips index fell 5.45 percent this month, more than DAX (-3.24 percent), CAC40 (-3.79 percent) or FTSE (-4.27 percent).
