Big Warsaw Stock Exchange investors get upset

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Weak opening on the Wall Street upset European investors. WIG20 dived in the last minutes of trading, following the suit of Frankfurt, Paris and London exchanges.

The 20 share blue chips index fluctuated very strongly today, the difference amounted to 98.7 points, a level reached recently on March 14th. The WIG20 index lost 1.55 percent to 3,729.39 points. TVN television and Agora media group were the best performers. TVN added 1.2 percent to PLN 24.27 while Agora gained 0.9 percent to PLN 45.2. TP telecom fell 4.1 percent to PLN 2.52 for the worst performance among blue chips. The court rejected two suits filed by TP against the head of antimonopoly authorities for the electronic and communications market. PGNiG gas monopoly lost 1.8 percent to PLN 4.85. During the day, the company rose to its maximum of PLN 5.09 (plus 3 percent) after the announcement that it joined a consortium building gas pipeline from Norway and Sweden to Denmark. At the end of the day, however, the stock dived.
