Many of the leading petrochemical companies in this country are seeking a stake in the eco fuel market. Some seem to believe that bio fuel production will be like finding the treasure at the end of the rainbow. However like the rainbow they may find that they never get to the end. Rather than a pot of gold they may find nothing but losses. Just like those who four hundred years ago sought out El Dorado. Lessons can be learned from other countries. In Germany, France or the Czech Republic it has been shown that producing less than around 20,000 tons annually is not profitable. Yet many companies are planning to do just this in Poland. It is considered that production needs to be around 50,000-100,000 tons annually in western Europe in order to reach the correct level of quality whilst keeping within financial scales.
