Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On October 17th, the Warsaw stock exchange GPW will for the first time offer options for shares of the most traded companies.
This is the last instrument that every respected stock exchange has in its offer, Piotr Szeliga, GPW deputy CEO said. The new instruments are buy and sell options of shares of the chosen companies for a price set in advance. Five companies qualify currently for the programme, including PKN Orlen, TP telecom, KGHM copper producer, Prokom IT company and Pekao bank.
Clients are more and more interested in derivatives. Therefore, this is good timing, Piotr Szeliga said. Brokers confirm this opinion.
I welcome launching new instruments. This is an incentive for the market which increases investment opportunities, Marek Przytula, DM Millennium broker commented.
The offer is mainly directed to small investors who generate 80 percent of futures in WIG20.
