Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - The workers of the shipyard are afraid of Aker, even if he still hasn’t bid. Management ask ARP for explanation. What about Karkosik?

There is  rumours in Gdańsk because of the information that Agency of Industry Development (ARP) together with Energa, electricity distributor, will buy the Gdańsk Shipyard and shortly after they will sell it through to Aker. Norwegian giant has been interested in the company for months, but finally, he didn’t placed any bid. It is said unofficially, that he will be in game in second half.

“I have such information. That is why I asked ARP for explanation. I have confirmed meeting with president of the Agency”, Andrzej Jaworski, acting for president of Shipyard in Gdańsk.

Last year the Agency held talks with Aker about engagement in shipyard.  Its representatives had positive opinions. Arkadiusz Krężel, president of ARP, assess however, that there are no negotiations being held with Aker. There is also o final decision about development plans of the shipyard.

There is a fact that ARP and Energea will be the short-term shareholders in shipyard. In governmental project of strategy it is called “shares parking”.

So far nor Andrzej Jaworski either Arkadiusz Krężel have denied the fact, that Roman Karkosik could enter the company, e.g. by rising its capital. Are those plans still valid? In shipyard could be heard that he wants to be in the company because of land owned by Synergia 99. Representatives of the investor denies.

On the other hand, it is said that the government would prefer Aker.

“It destroyed their plans when workmen put their offer”, one of sectors experts said.

It is also possible that gossips about ARP, Energa and Aker are in order to discredit the offer of workmen. They claim that the offer of ARP and Energa is worth PLN12m, and the workmen’ offer amounts to five times more. Final proposals will be known after due diligence. The deadline is in the end of May.
