Gas state-owned enterprises will get EU funds

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – PGNiG and Gaz System will get majority of EU funds provided for storages.

Gas companies planning to build a gas storage cannot count for EU funds from the Environment Program 2007-13. Listed PGNiG gas monopoly and Gaz System pipeline operator, two state-owned companies, are going to get subsidies. Meanwhile, all companies who want to import over 50m cubic meters of gas annually, a storage is a must. Construction works will cost hundreds of million euros. The government has EUR 1,693m. PGNiG and Gaz System projects amount to EUR 1,1162m. There are no other projects on the list which has already been approved of by the ministry of regional development.
