Today, a Warsaw court will decide on the fate of the former boss of insurance firm PZU. Along with two others, he is accused of causing losses to the company by buying real estate at inflated prices. Public prosecutors had managed for him to be held on remand until 31 October but are now requesting an extension in order to be able to finish their investigation. If found guilty he could spend up to ten years in prison.

As if that were not enough, he is also facing similar charges to the way in which he managed betting firm Totalizator Sportowe following his departure from PZU. In this case investments in Krakow based developer Code are being questioned along with deals with PKP debts which caused losses for the state owned lottery.
