Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Despite decreasing stock exchange, investment fund representatives are optimistic.

“Despite nervous beginning of the year, the stock market will grow in 2008. WIG20 will add 10-15 percent, bonds will bring 6-7 return on investment”, Cezary Iwanski, Pioneer Pekao Investment Management deputy CEO said.

“It is not going to be a bad year for investors. This time, the first half of the year will be weaker. This year may not be as good the previous years but there will be no breakdown”, Boguslaw Grabowski, Skarbiec TFI CEO added.

“The fluctuations will last for several more months but WIG will grow 10-20 percent this year”, Sebastian Buczek, Quercus TFI CEO forecasts.

Specialists believe that while blue chips may do better in the first half of the year, small and mid-caps which are losing now, may grow dynamically in the second half of 2008.

“Investments and consumption will be the engine of our economy. That’s why it is worthwhile to invest in sectors which will be boosted by this fact”, Cezary Iwanski added.
