Japan Tobacco considers position
Japan Tobacco has been rumoured to be packing its bags and getting out of Poland for some time. This is denied by Danuta Gut who heads external relations at the firm. The company has a factory at Piaseczno to the south of Warsaw which it bought from Reynolds Tobacco when it took all the European subsidiaries of the American giant in 1999 for USD7.8bn.
