L’Oréal develops its Polish plant

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - L’Oréal Polska will spend several dozens million zloty to develop its plant. The facility will increase its capacity to 210m items annually.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - L’Oréal Polska will spend several dozens million zloty to develop its plant. The facility will increase its capacity to 210m items annually.

The French cosmetics producer listed on Euronext is going to develop its plant near Warsaw. Today, the facility has 18,500 square meters of surface. In June 2007, it will be 4,500 square meters bigger.

“We will be able to produce 40m items more”, Maria Majdrowicz from L’Oréal Polska said.

This year, the plant produced 171m items, next year it should be 23 percent more. The investment amounts to several dozens million zloty. The company refused to give details. Rival companies are currently also developing their plants. Soraya plans to build a plant 10,000 square meters big. It is going to spend PLN 80m (EUR 20.9m). Kolastyna, which is going to be listed soon, will next year increase its plant in Krakow by 10,000 square meters.

 L’Oréal has 42 plants worldwide. Last year, it had EUR 14.5 billion of sales, including PLN 977m in Poland. This year, the company promises a double-digit net income.
