Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Mediatel’s sales have jumped. They may double if the company merges with another firm. Talks are going on.

Wojciech Gaweda, the CEO and main shareholder of Mediatel, promises interesting news next year.

“We are leading talks aiming at an acquisition of two companies. Decisions will be made in the first quarter”, Wojciech Gaweda said.

In the third quarter, Mediatel had PLN 21m (EUR 5.5m) of sales against PLN 8m in the same period of last year. After three quarters, sales amounted to PLN 54 and were 265 percent higher than a year ago. The company has generated PLN 2.5m of net income already against PLN 1.25m of loss last year.

“This is the result of earlier investments. We are a big player on the market of wholesale services. We get more and more new clients”, Wojciech Gaweda said.

The company is planning acquisitions.

“The contracts we are currently negotiating would double the company’s capitalization while sales would grow a little bit less. I wish the merger took place but I’m not the only person to make the decision here”, Wojciech Gaweda said.

A possible merger would be conducted without cash payments.

“We will issue shares for the owners of the acquired company”, Mediatel CEO explained.

Analysts do not want to comment on the situation in Mediatel. Few of them anonymously point out that the sales increase may be a one-time event.
