Medycyna Rodzinna acquires AVI health centre

The investment will be funded from the funds borrowed in November 2005 from Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a U.S. state agency. The latter borrowed USD 5.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Medycyna Rodzinna, a network of health centers owned by Enterprise Investors fund, has bought 70 percent in AVI Centrum Medyczne. The investment will be funded from the funds borrowed in November 2005 from Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a U.S. state agency. The latter borrowed USD 5.5m but the detailed price paid for AVI has not been revealed.

Medycyna Rodzinna has over 270,000 people in Poland. It plans further acquisitions and launching its centers in Poznan and Wroclaw. To launch one centre, the company needs PLN 1.5m (EUR 394,500). Today, the group consists of 17 outlets.

The management forecasts PLN 54m of sales this year and PLN 3m of EBITDA. The company said before that it would break even in 2006 and be listed in 2007.
