PZU insurer stayed without its CEO for three days only. Jaromir Netzel, dismissed on Friday after he had been stopped by the prosecutor’s office on the leakage in the ministry of agriculture, was replaced by Agata Rowinska, so far, deputy chairman of the supervisory board at PZU.
“Mrs. Agata Rowinska knows the company because she has been supervising it for over four years. Such a person as CEO is a guarantee of development”, Wojciech Jasinski, minister of the treasury said.
He added that the first task for Mrs. Rowinska will be to find the third member of the board.
The new CEO is a lawyer and has been for many years connected with the ministry of the treasury. He has been member of supervisory boards of numerous state-owned enterprises including PZU. Eureko, insurer’s second main shareholder, welcomed the news.
“We are pleased that the company has a new CEO. We have known Mrs. Rowinska for long. We hope for good cooperation. We will try to arrange a meeting with her quickly”, Michal Nastula, Eureko Polska CEO said.
Minister Jasinski expects that the members of the board chosen by Eureko and withdrawn by the investor in November will come back to the company soon. Eureko considers this option. The dialogue between the state and Eureko has been restarted.
“Negotiations are going on as far as the chairman
is concerned”, Michal Nastula said.
