Tourist company Orbis has announced PLN150m investments for 2003 plus around PLN460m which will be used for acquiring credit card clearance company Hekon. The money will be raised through existing resources and credits. Despite the current downturn in the hotel industry, the operator will continue to add to the PLN90m it spent in 2002 to improve its facilities. If the new year will bring cheer to the business will to a large extent depend on the international situation although a positive result in the EU entry entrance referendum is likely to act as an impulse to business. In the first three quarters of 2002 Orbis noted sales of PLN471m and profits of PLN27m. In the same period of 2001 sales were PLN681m and profits PLN50m.
