Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – HP, the US printer giant, is considering building its offshore business centre in Wroclaw or Poznan, western Poland. The worth of the investment remains a secret. The Polish cities are fighting with its counterparts in Central and Eastern Europe including Russia. 1000 people will find job in the centre, which is going to offer financial and accounting services to HP’s clients all over Europe.
According to local newspapers, HP’s representatives had already visited potential sites. ‘The final decision will be made within several weeks’, an anonymous source told ‘Puls Biznesu’.
Before holidays, Andrzej Dopierala, HP Polska CEO told ‘Puls Biznesu’ in an interview that HP would invest both in local companies and in special centres. Poland has no chances as a site for plants as it is much cheaper to build them in Asia.
HP Polska is the largest Polish IT company as far as sales are concerned. They amount to USD 0.5 billion (EUR 0.406 billion). The company is a leader on the printer market but also occupies high ranks among computers, servers, notebooks and IT projects deliverer.
