Poland: KGHM stock drags the indices up

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Monday was a one-actor-session on the Polish stock exchange GPWKGHM, the copper and silver producer should be prized with a stock Oscar. The turnover of its stock exceeded PLN 100 million (EUR 23 million), and the stock rose by 4.3 percent to PLN 39, the new all time record.

The WIG20 index of the largest Polish companies ended the day at the level of 1829.48 points, i.e. 0.3 percent higher than on Friday.

Another spectacular performer was the IT company Prokom. It increased by 3.7 percent after six consecutive days of falls, which brought price decrease by 17.5 percent. The IT companies were doing quite well and the TechWIG rose by 0.72 percent. Banks were weak because of the start of the privatisation of PKO BP.
