Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – In the first half of 2005, a 20-30 percent stake of Polmos Bialystok, Poland’s leading vodka producer, will be sold on the stock exchange GPW. ‘The exchange will help us find the proper price of the shares. We do not want to be accused of too low an evaluation’, Dariusz Witkowski, deputy Treasury Minister said. After the IPO, a strategic investor will be offered to buy 51 percent of Polmos Bialystok. US Central European Distribution Corporation, Polmos Lublin and Sobieski Dystrybucja are interested in the company.

Up to now, it was estimated that the Treasury Ministry could earn PLN 600 million (EUR 142.3 million) for Polmos Bialystok. ‘We hope it will be more’, Dariusz Witkowski said. The ministry wants to decrease the company capital by over PLN 200 million.
