Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – A tender worth PLN 250m (EUR 74.2m) has been launched to deliver sorting machines for the Polish Post. Asseco and Arcus consider whether to take part in the tender.

Poczta Polska launched a big project of acquiring machines sorting letters worth PLNJ 250-300m late in May. Initial offers are to submitted till the end of this week. Out of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Asseco, Arcus and maybe Sygnity could take part in the tender. To Arcus it would be a historical contract while Asseco would strengthen its position in relations with the Polish Post. The success will heavily depend on foreign partners chosen by the Polish companies. There are only several companies producing suitable equipment, including Siemens, Solystic, Elsag, Nec and Hitachi. They will probably take part in the tender jointly with Polish partners. According to “PB” sources, Sygnity has negotiated with Siemens but the talks failed.

"We consider taking part in the tender but we will probably not do that”, a source from Sygnity said.

Asseco will probably do this through its subsidiary Asseco Systems and offer machines distributed by Arcus and produced by French Solystc.
