Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – After three days of falls when WIG20 lost 6.5 percent, the market rebounded on Tuesday. The WIG20 index ended at 2,917.75 points, or 1.77 percent higher. The volume of trade remained low, blue chips worth PLN 535m changed hands.
KGHM copper producer jumped 5.2 percent while on Monday it lost over 4 percent. Investors are very sensitive to all news concerning the copper prices. Today, it was growing on the news that the Chinese economy grew 11.3 percent in the second quarter, which means growing demand for the copper. On the other hand, the fifth consecutive increase of oil prices did not help the fuel companies. Fears are strong that after Israeli attacks, the conflict may spread to the whole Middle East, the deliverer of 30 percent of world’s oil. PKN Orlen fell 0.6 percent to PLN 54.7, MOL lost 3.3 percent to PLN 309.5. Grupa Lotos rose 1 percent to PLN 47.2.Among small and mid-caps, Energopol Poludnie jumped 26 percent on “Puls Biznesu” report concerning its potential. Ponar added 18.2 percent. Hydrotor announced a tender to buy its shares earlier this week.
