Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index lost 0.75 percent today and ended at 2,111.05. Within the whole week it shed 0.62 percent. On Friday, shares of blue chips worth PLN 425m (EUR 103.3m) changed hands, a 10-percent decrease in comparison to Thursday.
KGHM copper producer added for the fifth consecutive day and rose 0.5 percent today and nearly 8 percent in the last five days. High copper prices plus initial promise to sell Telefonia Dialog telecom helped the company. TPSA telecom and Pekao bank shed 2 percent. PKN Orlen fuel giant ended just like the index. Softbank IT company was the best performer and ended the day at PLN 31.1 a share, or the highest level since October 2003.
Among smaller companies, Naftobudowa and Internet Group had another group day. Elektromontaz-Warszawa dived by nearly 20 percent. FON shares were the best way to earn last week – they gained 74 percent.
