WSE reverses the downward trend

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Warsaw investors watched the market with their eyes wide open today. The WIG20 index first fall to its record low and rebounded above 2,700 points.

In the morning, the 20 share blue chips index dived to 2,625 points. Surprisingly, this trend did not continue. The WIG20 index quickly rebounded above 2,700 percent. Shares worth PLN 1.2bn changed hands. At first, PKN Orlen fuel giant paced the advances, but then banks prevailed, including BZ WBK, Pekao and PKO BP. TP telecom had a bad day, Grupa Lotos continued its losses, media companies Agora and TVN ended down. The WIG20 index ended 1.45 percent up at 2,713 points.

mWIG40 added only 0.03 percent while sWIG80 shed 0.8 percent. Marvipol which had its debut today, opened at PLN 13, traded at PLN 59 during the day and ended at PLN 16. However, shares worth only PLN 100,000 changed hands.
