Polish producers of home appliances fight fiercely. Zelmer, most popular for its vacuum cleaners and mixers, has added microwave ovens to its offer. Amica, whose flag products include cookers and fridges, started to sell small appliances late last year including vacuum cleaners, irons, kettles and toasters.
“We reached 2 percent market share within two months in respective groups of products”, Marek Uszynski, Amica strategy director said.
Soon, further products will be added to the offer.
“We want to reach 5 percent market share within several years”, Marek Uszynski said.
Soon, decision will be made concerning the planned
facility in Russia. Construction works were supposed to be launched in October
2007 but the project was delayed. The company explained it had to reconsider
what it would produce at the plant. The costs were estimated at EUR 40m. When
and how much Amica will invest in Russia, will be announced in June.
