Andrzej Szukalski, new CEO of Bydgoszcz based Bank Pocztowy, says that the bank, owned by Poczta Polska and Prokom, would remain independent and not be merged with PKO BP bank. However both banks would coordinate their activities on payment cards and ATM’s markets.

Pocztowy needs a quick injection of capital, approx. PLN50-75m. Andrzej Szukalski says that he would ask Poczta and Prokomto raise this capital. Once the current shareholders would not participate in new issue, Bank Pocztowy management would start to look for the third investor. The only criteria is that the new shareholder would have to be a Polish entity, says the CEO of Bank Pocztowy.
