Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – BASF is not eager to invest in Poland although it is going to generate even higher income on this market.
BASF, one of the biggest chemical companies in the world, had PLN 1.24 billion (EUR 316.2m) of sales last year, or 15 percent more than in 2004. The company plans to increase the level of sales generated in 2004 by 100 percent. The company will focus on the biofuel market. It is going to deliver components. In 2020, alternative fuels will have to constitute 20 percent of the fuel used.
“We are producing plant protection wares. We deliver elements used at ester production. We also produce elements added to biodiesel to stop it from freezing”, Torsten Penkuhn, BASF Polska CEO said.
He refused to tell value of the estimated revenues generated from sales for the fuel industry.
BASF will also be more active in the construction products market. In July, it acquired the construction chemical production from Degussa, including two plants in Poland. The Polish market leaders include Atlas, Henkel Bautechnik, Maxit or Sika.
