Copper and silver miner KGHM Metale has created a working group to investigate the possibility of entering the bio fuel market. The fuel would be initially earmarked for its own production facilities.
KGHM has for some time wanted to diversify. Bio fuels are made from rape seed, the attractive yellow plant that is now decorating increasingly more of the country across Europe.
The biofuel plant would be located on land that was formerly part of a now liquidated concern. The cost of purchasing a licence for biofuels or the costs of building the installations are not known. More details of the plan will become available in the second half of the year.
