Blue chips pace the advances on the Warsaw Stock Exchange

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index rose 3.77 percent to 3,663.65 points on Wednesday.

Pekao bank was the best performer among blue chips with over 9 percent increase. KGHM copper producer rose 7 percent despite falling copper prices. Companies from the group of Ryszard Krauze businessman were doing extremely well on the news the decision to arrest him was withdrawn. Bioton insulin producer jumped 8 percent. Polnord grew 6 percent while Pterolinvest oil company jumped 24 percent. Seco/Warwick, which had its debut today, ended about 10 percent up.

Small and mid-caps did worse than blue chips. mWIG40 rose just 1 percent.

The volume of trade doubled from Tuesday and exceeded PLN 2bn. 75 percent of the trade was generated by blue chips.
