Drogerie Natura don’t fear crisis

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Drogerie Natura will launch 50 new shops next year. Its Irish investor will spend PLN 20m.

Polbita which manages 270 Drogeria Natura cosmetics shops wants to increase the number of its shops by 50. It hopes that bearish market will be advantageous in finding cheap locations.

„So far, the best sites were very expensive and available for banks mainly. I hope that now in face of uncertain situation on financial markets, we will also have an easier access to these sites”, Wojciech Filipczyk, Polbita CEO said.

The company will spend PLN 20m for its development. Irish holding IWP will provide the funds. Last year, Polbita had PLN 282m of sales and PLN 6.6m of net income. This year, it plans PLN 347m of sales. Net income should grow by 4 percent. Polbita has been profitable for two years only, earlier, within 11 years, it had generated totally PLN 80m of losses.

German Rossmann is Polbita’s biggest rival. It has 330 shops, plans to have 500 till the end of 2011. This year, it hopes to have PLN 2.3bn of sales up from PLN 1.75bn last year.
