Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Minister of the Treasury starts talks with EBRD concerning the bank’s role in solving the conflict with PZU.

Today, Aleksander Grad, the Minister of the Treasury, meets Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, the Polish representative at EBRD management. They will discuss how the conflict over PZU insurer could be solved. The clash between the Polish state (33 percent of PZU stock) and Eureko, the owner of 33 percent shares, have been going on for several years now. Eureko demands to implement the provisions of the privatization agreement. According to the latter, the state should sell the Dutch insurer its shares. The government used to refuse to sell the stake claiming there were some irregularities at the privatization. Eureko filed a suit against Poland to the international arbitrary tribunal. The latter said that the Dutchmen were right and is going to say in several months how big the compensation for Eureko should be.

The Minister of the Treasury said that he would present the new management of PZU within 7-10 days.
