GPW stock market falls 3.8 percent this week

Poland: Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Investors did not favour emerging markets this week and GPW fell over 3.8 percent within four days although on Monday it achieved its new all-time maximum. On Friday, a symbolic rise was noted: 0.1 percent, or 2,421 points. This is rather not the end of decreases, especially that Budapest stock exchange fell 1.3 percent and Prague market 0.

Among blue chips, KGHM copper producer noted a solid rebound of 2 percent thanks to increasing oil prices. Agora media group, TVN television, TP telecom, PKO BP and BPH banks gained today. Oil companies were losing, including Grupa Lotos (-1 percent) and PKN Orlen (-0.6 percent). Pekao bank dived 3.1 percent.Among smaller and medium-sized companies, PC Guard IT company rose for the second consecutive day. Today, they jumped 13.6 percent. DGA consulting company signed an agreement with state agency worth PLN 5.76m (EUR 1.5m) and gained 6.3 percent. Spin, IT company, which is going to acquire Neokart GIS in November, added 2.1 percent. Skotan and Alchemia, companies from Boryszewo Group jumped after the group said it was going to merge with Impexmetal. The latter rose 2.5 percent. (PLN 1 = EUR 0.254)
