Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Within 2-3 years the Russian plant will sell 0.5m cubic meters of boards. The plans for eastern expansion are bigger.

Today, Grajewo is officially launching its Russian particle board plant, a project worth EUR 90m.

“Transports have been leaving the factory for two weeks now. This year’s plans for this facility amount to EUR 20m of sales”, Pawel Wyrzykowski, Grajewo CEO said.

Within 2-3 years, the plant will have EUR 85m of sales.

“We already have a big contract with IKEA and several smaller orders. We are working over further orders as well”, the CEO said.

Grajewo expects return on the investment in five years. The Polish board producer is preparing a strategy through 2010. The annual investment projects amount to EUR 80-100m.

“Russia will be the key element of this strategy”, Pawel Wyrzykowski added.

The company could develop the production of floor boards there.
