Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Shareholders of Hoop and Kofola have just approved of the merger but they already plan acquisitions. Talks are ongoing.

On Monday, the owners of Kofola and Hoop approved of the merger of the two beverage producers. Yesterday, the managements presented outlines of the strategy for the new company.

“We want to found a company which will be one of three biggest non-alcohol producers in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia”, Jannis Samaris, the CEO of the merged company, earlier Czech Kofola CEO, said.

Marek Jutkiewicz, so far Polish Hoop deputy CEO and owner of 29.2 percent stake, who will be the chairman of the new firm with 14.6 percent stake, believes that the company may spend PLN 200m (EUR 57.2m) for acquisitions.

“We are negotiating with two companies in Poland”, Marek Jutkiewicz said.

In 2007, Hoop and Kofola had joint sales of PLN 1.42bn and net income of PLN 40m.
