Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – KGHM broke the agreement with Impel Security Poland in all of its companies. Business reasons are mentioned by the copper producer and political ones by others.
After ten years of cooperation KGHM resigned from the services of Impel Security Poland. Since September 1 the contract worth several hundreds thousand zlotys a month will go to Dozorbud Grupa Polska.
“PiS ruling party has already changed the management in the company and now time has come to change the contractors. Dozorbud’s offer was chosen because its politically correct. I’m outraged because the human element was not taken into account. The majority of Impel’s 300 security employees were formerly employed in KGHM and now they’ll be left without a job”, Ryszard Zbrzyzny, the head of the ZZPPM trade union, and an MP from SLD leftist and opposition party commented.
According to KGHM management, the business issues were decisive.
“It was the most attractive offer out of all of them. The value of the contract remains secret, however”, Mieczyslaw Piotrowski, KGHM spokesman assured.
Dozorbud’s management rejects the allegations of the MP.
“He is outraged that we won in a tender with Impel, connected with leftist parties, which had a monopoly for services in KGHM for many years. I want to employ Impel’s security employees and leave them on their posts”, Anna Wasila, Dozorobud Grupa Polska CEO said.
KGHM might be disappointed with Impel. Cases of thefts made by Impel’s security men have been discovered recently, five men have already been arrested. However, Impel is going to take part in upcoming tenders.
“We hope for further cooperation with the copper producer”, Agnieszka Majewska from Impel stressed.
