Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Today, the inflation is low. However, the situation will change soon, economists believe.
In October three out of five elements building the core inflation fell. The remaining two stayed at the same level as in September, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) said. Net core inflation, which is the most important data for the market, fell as expected, from 1.4 to 1.3 percent year-on-year.
“The data prove that inflation pressure remains weak: growing demand is not reflected in higher prices so far”, Piotr Bielski, Bank Handlowy economist commented.
But it is going to change soon. According to Karolina Bujok, PKO BP economist, CPI will grow from 1.2 percent in October to nearly 2 percent.
Michal Chyczewski, Bank BPH economist, expects CPI to reach its maximum (3 percent) in the middle of 2007.
“Then it will stay slightly above 2.5 percent”, Michal Chyczewski said.
