Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – A mysterious Irish pharmacy company which submitted an offer to buy Polish PHF pharmacy holding is probably Alltracel. The company based in Dublin is listed on LSE. Although it improves results every year, with its EUR 4.6 m of sales in 2004 it is forty times smaller than PHF. It specialises in R&D over new medicines. At the beginning of the year, the company finalised acquisition of British Westone Products.
The investor, which wishes to remain anonymous until a meeting with Poland’s Treasury Ministry representatives is held proposed in its initial offer to use PHF’s plants or at least one of them – Polfa Tarchomin. ‘Puls Biznesu’ failed to contact Jacek Socha, Poland’s Treasury Minister, to whom the offer was addressed. ‘In my opinion, Jacek Socha will not make any decision. He will not head the ministry in a few months’ time and he probably prefers not to make decisions at the last moment’, a source form the Treasury commented.
In Fall most probably, a coalition of rightist parties PO and PiS will take power. PHF is not supported by their MPs. Two of them have already suggested dividing the holding. ‘Introducing an investor to PHF is not in accordance with the programme of pharmacy producers’ consolidation and I cannot say today whether the government will want to change it. Polfa Tarchomin sale is worthwhile consideration because the plant is a financial burden to the rest. It is worthwhile talking to Irishmen because experience with those investors are positive’, Pawel Poncyljusz from PiS said.Poland/Enterprises/Pharmacy
