Sirmax of Italy will build a plant in Kutno, central Poland in the special economic zone. The company is deliverer of German BSH and Italian Merloni Indesit, which had launched their plants in the same zone before. It will be more profitable for Sirmax to produce its products in Poland. ‘The company has decided to buy in Kutno 4.5 ha of land’, Wojciech Waryszewski from municipal authorities said.

Sirmax will buy its stock from Basell Orlen, a subsidiary of PKN Orlen. The new plant, which will have surface of nearly 2 ha, will employ only 80-90 people. Sirmax is the fourth investor in Kutno, after Czech Kofola and British DS Smith and ID Machinery. Since the middle of 2004, investors have invested PLN 260m (EUR 64m) there. Negotiations with new investors are going on.
