Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Krakow Business Park (KBP) builds a unique business area with its own train station. The office buildings are part of special economic zone.
KBP, a private company founded in 1998 by two Americans, a British and a Pole, which in 2002 built in Zabierzow, near Krakow, its first office building, is investing much.
“We are constructing two buildings, 11,000 square meters each. One of them will be occupied by Shell”, Adam Swiech, KBP CEO said.
Shell is going to launch a financial center here with 800 employees. The office building is part of Krakow Special Economic Zone and is currently rented by Delphi, Prokom Software and ACS. The two other buildings are also in the zone.
The investment of KBP goes beyond the buildings.
“We are constructing a railway station in the center of the business park. It takes 7 minutes to go to Krakow and 30 minutes to go to Katowice, so we will be easily accessible to 7m people. In the future international trains may have a stop here”, Adam Swiech added.
The station is worth PLN 7m and should be ready in November.
Further projects depend on the demand.
“We are talking to companies which want to move to Krakow. We have clients for 30-40,000 square meters. In the years 2007-2008, two further buildings will be ready. There should be 6-7 of them in 2009”, the CEO promised.
The company wants to build 11 offices, EUR 14m each. 1,000 people may be employed in one building. KBP takes bank credits. When it finds clients, the building may be ready within 12 months.
Krakow Business Park depends much on the special economic zone.
“Investors are interested in tax relief”, Adam Swiech stressed.
“In June last year we added three buildings to the zone and on July 18, two others will be added, too”, Krzysztof Krzysztofiak, Krakowska special economic zone CEO said.
He stressed that KBP is a good site which allows companies to develop. One of the first clients, Delphi, is taking advantage of the possibility to grow.
“We moved the headquarters here over two years ago, and then also a group of engineers from the Technical Center. We are going to employ 200 more engineers within two years”, Agnieszka Przymusinska from Delphi said.
