Yesterday, a meeting was held with Hussein Al-Shahristani, the Iraqi oil minister. Polish biggest fuel companies took part in the meeting, including PKN Orlen, Grupa Lotos, PGNiG and Kulczyk Investment House, the latter being a surprise. Kulczyk group has stakes in Ophir Energy and Loon Energy which look for oil on several continents. Petrolinvest, an oil company founded by Ryszard Krauze, was not present at the meeting.
“We are not interested in this region. We focus on Kazakhstan where we are
intensively working”, Pawel Gricuk, Petrolinvest deputy CEO said.
