The ministry of education still has not announced details concerning the tender to deliver educational software to all Polish schools. The tender has been going on since January 2008. This is one of the biggest IT projects in Poland worth PLN 180m. The biggest IT companies, including Asseco, Sygnity, Comarch and others want to fight for this contract. PM Donald Tusk said on May 2nd 2008 that every Polish child should have access to educational software. Meanwhile, according to “PB” sources, in June an idea has appeared to cancel the tender and spend the funds for another thing. After “PB” informed about it, the ministry said that it had not cancelled the tender.
A month later nothing has changed. The ministry failed to answer “PB” questions. Companies taking part in the tender are upset.
“I don’t know how to comment on it. The ministry has implemented a fast-track procedure which lasts ten times longer than it should”, one of potential winners said.
