Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – For the first time in history, Pekao bank had higher capitalization than PKO BP with PLN 29.717 billion (EUR 7.5 billion), or PLN 17m more than its biggest rival. At the beginning of the year, PKO BP was evaluated 44 percent higher than Pekao. The latter had capitalization of PLN 23 billion. The difference was overcome thanks to the planned merger of Pekao with Bank BPH. Bank BPH is Poland ’s third largest bank and has capitalization of PLN 17.83 billion.
