Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – A new player may appear on the Polish bio-fuel market. The company is going to produce 50,000 tons of esters annually.
A new bio-fuel plant will launch operations near Poznan, western Poland. It is owned by a Polish company Petroestry. It is currently negotiating with a Belgian-Italian group Desmet Ballestra Oleo to buy a line to produce methyl esters. The capacity of the plant amounts to 50,000 tons annually. The value of the contract remains secret.
“We don’t have the itinerary yet”, Waldemar Korygowski, Petroestry said.
“PB” has learnt the Petroestry is looking for funds to finance the project. It may take a credit.
“We are not going to sell a stake in the company to an investor”, Waldemar Krygowski stressed.
The other Polish fuel producers, including Polmos Wroclaw from Brasco group owned by Aleksander Gudzowaty, and Biopaliwa from the group of Zbigniew Komorowski, have also chosen Desmet Ballestra Oleo. Today, Petroestry produces 9,500 tons of rape oil and 15,000 tons of rape products annually. Next year, the company plans to produce 70,000 tons of rape, up from 26,000 tons today. In 2005, the company had PLN 26.9m (EUR 7m) of sales and PLN 0.44m of net income.
