Ryszard Krauze, the stock investor engaged in Petrolinvest, may have troubles with the prosecutors office. He still develops his oil business in Russia and Kazakhstan, however. Recently, Petrolinvest has withdrawn from the acquisition of companies exploiting oil fields in Russia. However, the company plans acquisitions elsewhere.
“Petrolinvest is running advanced talks to buy stakes in one of regional companies in the scope of Ryszard Krauze’s interest”, “PB” source close to Petrolinvest said.
This may be either Russia or Kazakhstan. Petrolinvest representatives refuse
to comment.
“We are developing”, Stefan Geron, Petrolinvest main geologist in
Kazakhstan and the head of EmbaJugNieft, part of the group, only said.
Pawel Gricuk, Petrolinvest CEO was unavailable for comment.
In addition, Petrolinvest continues to look for oil in its Russian and Kazakh fields, especially, Zubantam in Kazakhstan.
“We will start selling oil from this field in March or April of 2008”, one of the group’s representatives said.
In autumn, Petrolinvest expected Zubantam fields to have about 1.2bn barrels. However, only about 250m barrels were possible to be explored.
Petrolinvest’s stock trades at PLN 325 (EUR 90.6) a share, the whole company is evaluated at PLN 1.9bn.
