The process has been cancelled until an agreement is signed with local authorities concerning transport services in 2006. The changes introduced by Pomorze authorities will influence SKM’s scope of activity. The investor has been told about it, Maria Wasiak explained.Pomorze authorities want local carriers: SKM and PKP PR, the regional unit of PKP to submit their offer for the year 2006 with no distinction between municipal area and the rest of the region.This year, we will submit a joint offer with PKP PR. We are still negotiating conditions of the cooperation and settlements but I think that we will submit our proposal within two weeks, Mikolaj Segen, SKM CEO said.This move will stop competition between carriers, so approved of by passengers. It will bring higher profitability of both companies, however. Their cooperation may result in launching a local transporting company. Local authorities seem to be keen to have a stake in such a company.Local authorities want to take from PKP the Gdansk-Rumia line used by SKM. They proposed PLN 4m (EUR 1m), giving 11 percent of shares, Mikolaj Segen added.(PLN 1 = EUR 0.254)
