(Puls Biznesu) – Jacek Socha, the Treasury Minister, presented yesterday to the Parliamentary treasury commission a list of 150 companies, which will be privatised this year. PZU insurer is the first in line. The minister believes that privatisation process could be started by signing a new agreement with Eureko. The agreement, which will allow to end arbitrary court case, is being prepared. Other companies mentioned by the Treasury Minister include Enea, Polmos Bialystok, PGNiG, Ruch, Lotos, Elektrownia Kozienice, Ciech, Zelmer, Impexmetal and – maybe – GPW, Polish stock exchange.
‘I cannot imaging so many plants to be privatised during election campaign, especially the energy sector and PZU’, Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz from Law and Justice party, and the head of the parliamentary commission commented. He also said that the Minister failed to say, what stakes would be left in the Treasury Ministry. Nearly all MPs criticised the plans and accused the government of Marek Belka for selling out all goods. ‘If we consider effectiveness of private and state control, it is good for both employees and citizens if a company is private’, Jacek Socha replied.
