Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – In reality, Poland’s deficit in 2004 will amount to below PLN 40 billion (EUR 9.7 billion), while the government planned PLN 45.3 billion, Merrill Lynch analysts believe. ‘It will be true only if it turns out that the payments for farmers were dramatically increased in December’, they add. In their opinion, the prospective for fiscal policy in 2005 improved and financial needs of the government should be lower than planned. One of the reasons is the conciliation with Eureko, the owner of 20.91 percent in PZU insurer, which enables the sale of the 30 percent stake of the company.
