Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – In November, the board of directors of KSC sugar holding will decide whether to launch the production of renewable energy in those sugar plants which are being closed. The project has been prepared by Enod, a company owning the renewable energy technology, and a potential investor of a new company. ‘An expertise needs to be done first whether the project will be profitable for KSC’, Stanislaw Kalinowski, KSC deputy CEO said.
The energy would be produced from rape. ‘A venture capital fund is ready to invest in the project. We are already holding talks. Besides, credits and our own funds would be invested. The project is worth about PLN 40 million (EUR 9.2 million), but in the first stage PLN 15-20 will be necessary’, Grzegorz Kaczmarczyk, Enod CEO enumerated. The Japanese company Mizuho is also interested in the project, as the company is looking for limits for contamination emissions.
