Poland: TPSA telecom fails to drag up other blue chips

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – On Wednesday, the WIG20 index fell 0.63 percent to 1,951.05 points continuing the decrease started on February 8th. Before, in the period of January 24th to February 7th, WIG20 had risen 8.8 percent.

TPSA telecom started the day 1.5 percent lower, then it managed to grow to the level 1.5 percent higher than on Tuesday, but it ended the day 0.9 percent below Tuesday level. Shares worth PLN 206 m (EUR 51.3 m) changed hands. PKN Orlen fuel giant shed 1.2 percent, while shares worth PLN 50 m changed hands.

Among smaller companies, Hoga was the best performer with a 42.1 percent jump after it was listed again. Elektromontaz Warszawa, Bauma and Instal continued speculative increases in the range of 12-26 percent. Ceramika Nowa Gala glaze producer gained 3.7 percent after it said it would issue 8.2 m of new shares and spend the funds to build another plant.
